Annual Fundraiser Luncheon

Houston Parks Board’s Annual Fall Luncheon Fundraiser brings local civil servants, philanthropists, community leaders, park-lovers and city movers-and-shakers together to celebrate and support the non-profit’s mission to expand, improve, and protect parks and greenspaces in the region.

Co-Chairs of each luncheon conceive an annual theme to emphasize a vision, goal, or accomplishment for Houston Parks Board. This year, the theme centered around Paths, Prairies, and Playgrounds, accentuating the natural beauty of the City’s parks and accommodations. Inspired by native autumn flora of the region, the design features colorful illustrations of Houston’s fall bloom. The botanicals are arranged in vines, signifying paths and connections of the park. Included in this year’s luncheon were bandannas gifted to guests showing Houston’s 200+ parks and preserves, bayous, Bayou Greenways, neighborhood parks created under Mayor Sylvester Turner’s 50/50 Initiative, and regional park opportunities. Guests were also welcomed with photo wall backdrops, providing information on Houston’s parks, prairies, playgrounds, conservation efforts, and the upcoming Hill at Sims park, located in a 100-acre regional detention basin, adjacent to Sims Bayou Greenway.

The luncheon was a record-breaking event, raising $715,000 to support the creation and improvement of Houston area greenspaces.
